Who I Am
L
From Lainey:
Growing up in Oklahoma, I always knew that I
would end up in Nashville to make my mark in the country music
industry. I began my first performances on the entry step of
my house for my family, neighbors, and friends when I was about 9.
Later, at around the age of 12 I decided I wanted to take it outside the
living room and began to perform at local musical opry shows, fairs
and any other venues I could get on stage.
From the very first time the stage has felt like home!
I always am at home in front of an audience, the
bigger the better! I could not have been in a better place to
hone my music and performance skills. The Oklahoma Opry was
a great training ground for young singers, giving us the opportunity
to work with a live band in front of a live audience. I was a regular performer on the show for several years until I
moved out here to Nashville in 2004.
Over these past five years, I have been developing my songwriting skills and perfecting my voice to help gain momentum in this very competitive town. It is tough, but I have been making my way and striving to be my best in all areas. I have been extremely blessed and have the opportunity to be
working with some amazing people!
Thanks for being a part of this journey with me!
Lots of love,
Full Bio:
Lainey Edwards is a country music singer/songwriter whose move to Nashville almost five years ago has resulted in working relationships with some of the industrys most accomplished producers, songwriters, music publishers and record executives. Brett Beavers, her Grammy-nominated producer, says She can write 'em.....and she can really sing 'em. I have been a huge fan of her smoky, soulful, powerful voice since the first recording I heard of her. I love the classiness of her style, her steady work ethic, and her sharp business sense.....and I'm looking forward to one day soon pulling off the road to soak up the moment she hits radio.....and I will be turning it up.......go girl! In the Spring of 2009, Lainey will be releasing her debut album with a concert scheduled for April 11,2009 in her home state of Oklahoma.
This entire record contains material co-written by Lainey Edwards and some of country musics most successful writers including Kent Blazy a writer of five Garth Brooks number one hits. The albums content and Laineys smooth, distinctive, powerful voice takes the listener on a sassy, playful journey into her world. It is a varied path experiencing the butterflies of young love and the heartache of losing the one most dear. Kent Blazy says In my time in music city, Ive been fortunate to meet some talented folks that have that unexplainable, magical It Factor. Garth Brooks, Billy Dean, & Trisha Yearwood come to mind. None of them had been discovered yet still their talent was shining through. Lainey Edwards has It. Shes a soulful singer, a serious songwriter, a seasoned performer, and a woman with big heart. Shes a fireball who knows what she wants and is willing to put in the time and effort to make her dreams come to life. God bless her.
Lainey has been performing on various stages in Oklahoma since the age of thirteen. She has extensive live performance experience appearing in concert at many Oklahoma and Texas venues including the renowned Oklahoma Opry. Lainey has the deepest appreciation for the power of music. Market corrections may occur in the industry. However, music and art will never lose it ability to enrich lives, inspire love, chastise unfaithful love, bring a smile, promote all out laughter, or have the masses dancing in the streets. Laineys greatest desire is that her music will fill this time tested hunger for musical inspiration and joy. The music and art is first and foremost in this endeavor. Barbara Cloyd, songwriter and longtime booking agent for the world famous Bluebird Café, says "In Nashville there are a lot of beautiful young women who can sing, but not many who can deliver a song with the passion and intensity, Lainey does.
